Manually entering a long string of addresses every time you withdraw is tedious and error-prone. Binance's address book feature saves your frequently used withdrawal addresses so you can simply select them next time.
How to Add Withdrawal Addresses?
After signing up for Binance, you can add addresses in two ways:
Method 1: Save During Withdrawal
- Initiate a withdrawal as normal
- After entering the withdrawal address, check "Save Address"
- Give the address a name (e.g., "My MetaMask", "Cold Wallet")
- The address is automatically saved to the address book after completing the withdrawal
Method 2: Add Directly in the Address Book
- Go to Binance App → Wallet → Withdraw
- Find the "Address Management" or "Address Book" entry
- Tap "Add Address"
- Select the currency and network
- Enter the address
- Fill in the address label (note name)
- Fill in Memo/Tag if required
- Complete security verification
- Save
How to Use Saved Addresses?
When withdrawing:
- Tap the "Address Book" icon in the address field
- Select from the saved address list
- Address and network information auto-fill
- Enter the withdrawal amount and proceed as normal
This eliminates the step of manually entering and verifying addresses each time.
How to Delete or Edit Addresses?
- Go to the address management page
- Find the address you want to manage
- Tap "Delete" or "Edit"
- Complete security verification (email/SMS/Google authenticator code)
- Confirm the operation
Note: Editing an address essentially means deleting the old one and adding a new one. For security, sensitive operations all require secondary verification.
Whitelist Feature
This is an advanced security feature of the address book. Once enabled, you can only withdraw to addresses saved in your address book — you cannot withdraw to new, unsaved addresses.
How to enable:
- Profile → Security → Withdrawal Whitelist
- Toggle on
- Complete security verification
Benefits of the whitelist:
Even if your account is compromised, hackers can only withdraw to addresses you previously saved (your own addresses), not to unknown ones.
Important notes:
- After enabling the whitelist, you must first add any new address to the address book before withdrawing to it
- Newly added addresses may have a cooling period (typically 24 hours) during which withdrawals to the new address are blocked
- This cooling period prevents hackers from immediately adding new addresses and transferring funds after breaking in
What Is Memo/Tag?
Certain currencies require a Memo or Tag in addition to the address when withdrawing, such as:
- XRP requires a Destination Tag
- EOS requires a Memo
- XLM requires a Memo
If you forget to fill it in or enter it incorrectly, coins may be lost or fail to reach the recipient. The address book can save both address and Memo information, eliminating the need to confirm each time.
Address Book Security Tips
- Use clear label names: e.g., "OKX Hot Wallet", "Ledger Cold Wallet", "John's Binance" — easy to distinguish
- Clean up regularly: Delete unused addresses promptly to reduce risk
- Enable the whitelist: Highly recommended to significantly improve account security
- Verify carefully when adding: Ensure addresses are completely correct — once saved, you won't need to verify each time
- Don't save strangers' addresses: Only save addresses you've confirmed are safe
If you haven't installed the app yet, you can download the Binance App first.
Summary
The Binance address book saves frequently used withdrawal addresses for one-tap selection. It's highly recommended to enable the whitelist feature to only allow withdrawals to saved addresses — an effective way to protect your assets. Address book + whitelist + security verification provides triple protection for safer and more convenient withdrawals.
