Alipay is one of the most commonly used payment tools for many people, and you can use it to buy crypto on Binance. However, "buying crypto with Alipay" doesn't mean Binance directly integrates with Alipay — rather, you transfer money to a merchant through the C2C market, and the merchant releases the crypto to you.
Prerequisites
Before starting, make sure you meet these conditions:
- Already signed up for Binance and completed identity verification
- Alipay account is verified with sufficient balance or linked bank card funds
- Binance App is installed and logged in
Detailed Steps
Step 1: Go to the C2C Buy Page Open the Binance App → Tap "Buy Crypto" → Select "C2C Buy." For the web version, click "Buy Crypto" → "C2C Trading" in the top navigation bar.
Step 2: Set Filter Conditions
- Purchase currency: USDT (beginners should buy USDT first — it's a stablecoin with a price that remains roughly constant)
- Fiat: CNY
- Payment method: Select "Alipay"
This step is important — after selecting Alipay, the system only shows merchants who accept Alipay payments.
Step 3: Select a Merchant and Place an Order Choose a reliable merchant from the list (check their volume and completion rate), enter the amount in CNY you want to spend. The system automatically calculates how much USDT you'll receive.
Click "Buy USDT" and confirm the order.
Step 4: Get the Merchant's Payment Info After placing the order, the page displays the merchant's Alipay account (phone number or email) and name. Verify the information carefully.
Step 5: Transfer via Alipay Switch to the Alipay app:
- Tap "Transfer"
- Enter the merchant's Alipay account
- The system will display the recipient's name — verify it matches the order page
- Enter the exact transfer amount (must match the order amount precisely)
- Leave the memo field blank, or write something generic like "transfer" or "repayment"
- Confirm the transfer
Step 6: Return to Binance and Confirm Payment After the transfer succeeds, return to the Binance App and tap the "I've Paid" button. Then wait for the merchant to confirm receipt and release the crypto. This usually completes within minutes.
Step 7: Confirm USDT Received After the merchant releases the crypto, you'll receive a notification, and USDT will appear in your funding account. Check your balance on the "Assets" page.
Important Notes for Alipay Payments
Never write sensitive words in the transfer memo Don't write "buy crypto," "USDT," "BTC," "bitcoin," "cryptocurrency," etc. This may trigger Alipay's risk control, leading to restrictions on your Alipay account. Write "transfer," "living expenses," or leave it blank.
Amount must be exact If the order amount is 523.67 yuan, transfer exactly 523.67 yuan — don't round up to 524 yuan. Incorrect amounts may prevent the merchant from confirming, causing disputes.
Don't split into multiple transfers Complete one order with one transfer. Multiple transfers make it difficult for merchants to match orders and create complications.
Mind Alipay transfer limits Alipay has per-transaction and daily limits that vary by account level. If you're buying a large amount, verify your Alipay transfer limits in advance.
What to Do After Buying USDT?
Once USDT arrives in your funding account, to trade for Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, transfer it to your spot account first:
- Open the "Assets" page
- Tap "Transfer"
- Transfer from "Funding Account" to "Spot Account"
- Select USDT, enter the amount
- Confirm the transfer
The transfer is instant and free. After that, you can buy any cryptocurrency on the spot trading market.
What If Alipay Gets Restricted?
If your Alipay gets restricted due to frequent transfers to different people:
- Wait for the restriction to lift automatically (usually 7 days to 1 month)
- Contact Alipay customer service to appeal
- Consider switching to bank transfer or WeChat as your payment method
To avoid triggering risk controls, don't make frequent C2C transactions in a short period, especially to different merchants. For large purchases, choose a single verified merchant to reduce the number of trading counterparts.
