Troubleshooting Missing Deposits
After depositing crypto to Binance, the anxiety of not seeing it arrive is something many have experienced. In most cases, the funds aren't lost — they either need more blockchain confirmations or a small issue needs to be resolved. Follow these steps to troubleshoot.
If you don't have a Binance account yet, sign up through the Binance registration link. Before depositing, always double-check the address and network information.
Step 1: Check the Sender's Status
First, confirm that your withdrawal from the sending platform or wallet was successfully initiated.
- Check the withdrawal history on the sending platform — does the status show "Completed"?
- If it shows "Processing," the sender hasn't yet broadcast the transaction — wait for them to finish
- Get the transaction hash (TxID/TxHash) — this is critical for further investigation
Step 2: Look Up the Transaction on a Blockchain Explorer
With the transaction hash in hand, search on the corresponding network's blockchain explorer:
- BTC: blockchain.com or mempool.space
- ETH/ERC20: etherscan.io
- BSC/BEP20: bscscan.com
- TRC20: tronscan.org
- SOL: solscan.io
Paste the transaction hash and check:
- Whether the transaction has been included in a block
- How many block confirmations it has
- Whether the receiving address is correct
Step 3: Check Block Confirmations
Different networks require different numbers of confirmations before Binance credits your account:
- BTC: Usually 1-2 confirmations (about 10-20 minutes)
- ETH: About 12 confirmations (about 3 minutes)
- BSC: About 15 confirmations (about 1 minute)
- TRC20: About 20 confirmations (about 1 minute)
If the blockchain explorer shows insufficient confirmations, just be patient. During network congestion, BTC confirmations can take hours.
Step 4: Verify the Deposit Address and Network
This is where issues most commonly arise:
Is the address correct? Compare the deposit address you obtained from Binance with the address the funds were actually sent to — make sure they match exactly.
Does the network match? This is the most critical point. If you sent via the ERC20 network but used a BSC (BEP20) deposit address on Binance, the funds won't arrive normally.
Is a Memo/Tag required? Certain coins (such as XRP, EOS, ATOM) require a Memo or Tag when depositing. If omitted, the funds reach Binance's master address but can't be allocated to your account.
Common Issues and Solutions
Wrong network selected
If you sent ERC20 tokens to a BSC address (or vice versa), since Binance supports both networks, they may be able to help recover the funds in some cases. You'll need to submit a ticket, and a fee may apply.
Memo/Tag was left blank
Submit a support ticket to Binance, providing the transaction hash, deposit amount, time, and other details. Support can manually credit the funds to your account. Processing time may be longer.
Deposit below minimum amount
Each coin has a minimum deposit amount. Deposits below this threshold won't be credited and cannot be recovered.
Deposit from a contract address
If tokens are sent directly from a smart contract address, Binance may not be able to detect them. Always send from a personal wallet address when possible.
Step 5: Check Binance Deposit History
In the Binance app: Assets -> Deposit -> Deposit History
Or on the web: Wallet -> Transaction History -> Deposits
If you can see your deposit listed as "Confirming," Binance has detected it — just wait for confirmation. If there's no record at all, the address or network may have been incorrect.
Step 6: Contact Support
If all the above steps have been checked and the deposit still hasn't arrived, contact Binance support:
- In-app: Tap the "Support" icon at the bottom-right of the home screen
- Provide: transaction hash, deposit coin, deposit network, deposit amount, deposit time
Support typically responds within 24-48 hours. Cases involving wrong networks or addresses may take longer.
Prevention Tips
Build these good habits for future deposits:
- Test with a small amount: Send a small test deposit first to confirm it arrives
- Double-check the address: Compare at least the first 6 and last 6 characters
- Confirm the network matches: The sending and receiving networks must be the same
- Take screenshots: Save screenshots of the deposit address and transaction details
