How to Update the Binance App on Each Platform
Keeping your Binance app up to date is important — new versions fix known bugs, add features, and improve security. Different installation methods have different update processes.
If you don't have a Binance account, create one through the Binance registration link, then download and install the latest app.
How to Check Your Current Version
Open the Binance app -> tap profile icon (top-left) -> scroll to the bottom to see the version number (e.g., v2.xx.x).
You can also visit Binance's official download page to compare against the latest version.
Android Update Methods
Method 1: In-app update prompt The Binance app detects new versions and shows an update dialog. Tap "Update Now" to download and auto-install.
Method 2: Download the latest APK from the official site
- Visit Binance's official download page in your phone's browser
- Tap "Android APK Direct Download"
- After download, open the installation package
- If prompted about "unknown sources," allow installation in settings
- Installation overwrites the old version — data is preserved
Method 3: Google Play update If installed via Google Play:
- Open Google Play Store
- Search "Binance"
- If an update is available, tap "Update"
Note: Due to regional policies, the Google Play version may not be the latest — downloading from the official site is preferred.
iPhone Update Methods
Method 1: App Store update
- Open App Store
- Tap your profile icon (top-right)
- Pull down to check available updates
- Find Binance and tap "Update"
Method 2: Enable auto-updates Settings -> App Store -> enable auto-download for app updates. Future updates download automatically over WiFi.
Method 3: TestFlight update If installed via TestFlight:
- Open the TestFlight app
- Find Binance
- Tap "Update" if available
Do I Need to Log In Again After Updating?
Usually not. Overlay installation (installing the new version without uninstalling) preserves your login session and settings.
But you may need to log in again if:
- You uninstalled and reinstalled
- A major version update occurred (e.g., v2.x to v3.x)
- App data was cleared
Re-login requires your email/phone and password, plus two-factor authentication.
Troubleshooting After Update
App crashes: Clear the cache and restart. If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall.
Interface changed, can't find features: New versions may reorganize the layout. Use the search bar to quickly locate features by name.
Can't log in after update: Check your network connection. Try switching between WiFi and mobile data.
What Happens If You Don't Update?
If you go too long without updating:
- Some features may become unavailable
- Compatibility issues may arise
- Security vulnerabilities remain unpatched
- Eventually you may be forced to update to continue using the app
Check for updates at least once a month to stay reasonably current.
Download Safety Tips
Whenever downloading or updating the Binance app:
- Only download from the official Binance website, App Store, or Google Play
- Don't download from third-party app stores — they may contain malicious code
- Don't click download links from strangers
- Verify the app name and icon after installation
Keeping the app updated is a basic step for account security and the best user experience.
