Binance has several sub-accounts — spot, funding, futures, earn, and more. Many beginners get confused about where their money is and how to move it between these accounts. Transfers are actually simple and take just seconds.
Binance Account Structure
First, understand what each account is for:
- Spot Account: Funds for spot trading (buying and selling crypto)
- Funding Account: Funds for C2C trading, deposits, and withdrawals
- Futures Account (USDT-M): Margin for USDT-margined perpetual/delivery futures
- Futures Account (Coin-M): Margin for coin-margined futures
- Margin Account: Funds for margin/leverage trading
- Earn Account: Funds deposited into earn products
Transfers between these accounts are instant and fee-free. You can freely move funds between accounts at any time.
If you're new to Binance, register on Binance first and get familiar with the interface.

Common Transfer Scenarios
Scenario 1: Bought USDT via C2C, want to spot trade C2C-purchased USDT is in Funding Account -> Transfer to Spot Account -> Start trading
Scenario 2: Want to use USDT for futures USDT in Spot Account -> Transfer to USDT-M Futures Account -> Start futures trading
Scenario 3: Futures profits, want to cash out USDT in Futures Account -> Transfer to Funding Account -> Sell via C2C
Scenario 4: Want to put spot coins into earn Spot Account coins -> Most earn products auto-transfer when you subscribe (no manual transfer needed for most)
Notes
1. Can't transfer everything with open positions If you have open futures positions, the system calculates maintenance margin and won't let you withdraw all funds. Only the available balance can be transferred out.
2. Some coins have restrictions A few coins may not support transfers between certain accounts. Convert to USDT first, then transfer.
3. Earn products need redemption first Funds in earn products can't be directly transferred — redeem to spot first, then transfer.
4. No security verification needed Since funds stay within your Binance account, transfers don't require verification codes. This makes the process very fast.
Viewing Account Balances
The "Assets" overview page shows all account balances at a glance. Tap a specific account to see each coin and quantity held.
If your "Total Assets" shows money but spot balance is zero, funds are likely in another account. Check the funding, futures, or earn accounts.
Transferring is a very basic and frequent Binance operation. The typical flow is: C2C buy (Funding Account) -> Transfer to needed account -> Trade or earn -> Transfer back to Funding Account -> C2C sell to cash out.
